Online Therapy Intensives in Ontario and British Columbia
Longer, focused therapy sessions for individuals and couples who want more time to slow down, work through what feels stuck, and move with care toward deeper understanding.
Virtual 2-hour, 3-hour, and 2-day intensives for individuals and couples.
A deeper space for what needs time
Sometimes a weekly therapy hour is enough. Other times, it can feel like you are just beginning to touch what matters when the session has to end.
A therapy intensive offers more spacious, focused time to explore a particular concern, pattern, loss, or relationship dynamic. Instead of rushing toward answers, we slow down. There is room to pause, reflect, notice what is happening in your body, and stay with what needs care.
Therapy intensives at Heartsprout are available virtually for individuals and couples in Ontario and British Columbia, with limited availability in other Canadian provinces depending on clinical fit and regulatory requirements.
What is a therapy intensive?
A therapy intensive is a longer online therapy session designed to offer more time and depth than a regular 50-minute appointment.
Rather than meeting weekly and stopping just as something important begins to open, an intensive gives us a more focused space to stay with one area of your life, relationship, grief, or inner experience. Intensives may include conversation, reflection, grounding, emotional processing, breaks, and integration time.
The work is deeper, but it is not rushed.
A gentle invitation
If you’ve been feeling the pull to slow down and truly tend to what’s within, this might be the time.
During your consultation, we’ll talk through what feels most important, the format that fits best, and how to prepare. There’s no rush, only an invitation to move at a pace that feels right for you.
Before
We begin with a consultation to explore fit, focus, and format. If an intensive feels appropriate, we schedule an intake session to gather background information, clarify what you want to work on, and prepare at a pace that feels supportive.
During
We move gently and collaboratively, guided by the goals we set together. The session may include conversation, reflection, grounding, emotional processing, breaks, and time to pause. The work is focused, but not rushed.
After
Integration matters. You may need rest, quiet, journaling, movement, or time to notice what continues to unfold. Depending on the format, we may also plan next steps or follow-up support.
Therapy intensives may be helpful if you are navigating
Grief or complicated loss
Burnout or emotional exhaustion
Shame, self-doubt, or people-pleasing
Relationship patterns that keep repeating
A life or identity transition
Intimacy concerns or emotional disconnection
A specific issue that feels too layered for a weekly hour
Wanting focused support within a shorter period of time
You do not need to arrive with everything figured out.
The consultation is a place to clarify what kind of support may fit best.

Looking for discernment counselling?
Unsure whether to stay, separate, or begin couples therapy?
Discernment counselling may be a better fit when one or both partners are unsure whether to stay, separate, or begin couples therapy. Unlike couples therapy, the goal is not to immediately repair the relationship. The goal is to slow down, understand what has happened, and gain clarity about the next step.

How We Can Work Together
Every next step begins with a simple conversation. We’ll take time to explore what feels most alive for you right now and what kind of space might support that best. You don’t need to have it all sorted out. Just a small openness to begin is enough.
