Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

How do I book a free consultation?

You can book a free consultation through the booking link here. The consultation is a brief space to share what you are looking for, ask questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels like the right fit.

What happens during the consultation?

During the consultation, we will talk gently about what is bringing you to therapy, what kind of support you are hoping for, and which service may fit best. You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. We can begin with what feels most present now.

How do I know if therapy is the right fit?

Sometimes it takes a conversation to know. A free consultation can help you get a sense of my approach, ask questions, and notice whether the space feels steady, respectful, and supportive. If I am not the right fit, I will do my best to help you think through what kind of support may be more appropriate.

Online Therapy

Do you offer online therapy?

Yes. Heartsprout Therapy offers online therapy through secure video sessions. Online therapy can offer a flexible and accessible way to receive support from a private space that feels comfortable to you.

Where are you able to see clients?

I offer online therapy in Ontario and British Columbia, with limited availability in other Canadian provinces depending on clinical fit and regulatory requirements.

Fees and Sessions

What are your fees?

Fees depend on the type and length of therapy. Current rates are listed on each service page, including individual therapy, couples therapy, therapy intensives, discernment counselling, sex and intimacy therapy, and grief counselling. We can also talk through fees and format during your free consultation.

Do you provide receipts for insurance?

Yes. Receipts are provided for each session and may be submitted to your insurance provider if your plan covers psychotherapy with a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). Please check with your insurance provider directly to confirm your coverage.

How long and how often are sessions?

Some individual and couples therapy sessions are 50 minutes. Discernment counselling and therapy intensives may be longer. Sessions vary depending on your needs, availability, and the kind of support you are seeking.

Care and Fit

Are you inclusive and affirming?

Yes. I aim to offer therapy that is affirming, non-shaming, and respectful of the many ways people form relationships, families, identities, and communities. I welcome 2SLGBTQ+ clients, non-monogamous relationships, and those within kink communities.

What if I’m in crisis?

Heartsprout Therapy is not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger or need urgent support, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. If you need immediate emotional support in Canada, you can call or text 988 for crisis support.
